Church

Our second day in South Africa we went to Church with Elder & Sister Graf from Santa Clara, UT. We went to the Muncieville Ward north of Krugersdorp.  They meet in some modular units that are placed around a courtyard that is covered by an awning.  The people were wonderful and there were 7 cute little girls on the front row ahead of us who were singing with all of their hearts and souls.

Elder Graf talking to two young missionaries.

The second week we were assigned to the Kagiso 2nd Ward in the Soweto Stake.  You can see that it is a nice brick building with a nice interior.    You can also see some of the children outside after the meetings.  The people have wonderful hearts.  They truly love the Lord and most of them walk 3-5 miles to Church rain or sweltering heat.  They have such great faith that I feel like we are learning as much from them as anything we may be contributing
.

The third week we attended the Soweto Stake Conference.  The Stake President (Thabo Lebethoa) was released because he has been called to serve as the Mission President in the Cape Town Mission.

Some of the members visiting after the two hours of meetings.  Notice how well dressed and sharp they are.  Despite their relative poverty they really have great respect for the Lord and the Sabbath.
